PANEL: CSO, Symplicity and Handshake
Our client relational management systems are a pivotal part of career services operations. We have a unique, never before opportunity to hear from representatives of CSO, Symplicity and Handshake who will address their vision for the future. Additionally, this session provides career services professionals an opportunity to influence a vital component of our business.
There are three primary points for the panel’s consideration:
1. The future of Client Relationship Management Systems and how these systems assist institutions with leveraging data.
2. The reason(s) data has become so critical to higher education and career centers.
3. The evolution of the technology and the future of the industry for CRM platforms.
The 2015 drive-in sessions include two sites this summer:
Stanford University, Wednesday, July 8
Portland Campus of the University of Oregon, Friday, July 10
This year, the CSI-West faculty will focus on “Big Data, Big Opportunity: Transforming our World; Informing Our Work”. We will explore the opportunities for Career Centers and our services to creatively utilize the power and potential of these emerging tools and new technologies, including employing new data sources and applications to engage students and employers.
Here are some additional highlights from the program:
Keynote, Portland - Steve Miller is the Chief Operating Officer at nfrastructure (http://www.nfrastructure.com/). Steve will help us explore the amazing influence of Big Data in our everyday life as well implications for career services. We’ll look at the emerging and devolving Big Data job roles, as well as how we prepare students with data and analytics needed for the data revolution.
Keynote, Stanford - Dr. Christopher Paolini is a researcher and professor at San Diego State University with a Ph.D. in Computational Science and Engineering. Chris has been working with Dr. Mahasweta Sarkar on a product called Proximity Careers App. The project was funded by the National Science Foundation. In the process of developing the APP Dr. Paolini and Dr. Sarkar researched career services operations and learned a lot about our needs. Dr. Paolini will be talking about Big Data through that lens of understanding our industry.
