PacNorth Webinar: Creating Inclusive Workplace Strategies for People with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

 

Join us to learn how we can best integrate people with ASD into the workplace. Topics to be covered include:


•    The benefits of inclusivity in the workplace
•    What does ASD exactly look like? What are common misconceptions?
•    Practical strategies that can be used to accommodate neurodiverse employees
•    Resources for job seekers with ASD, employers, or for people who support those with ASD


Speaker: Doug Ferguson is an Accessibility Counselor at California State University, East Bay in Hayward, CA. In his current role he meets with students to determine academic accommodations to address disability related needs. Previously, Doug coordinated the WorkAbility-IV program at the University to provide career counseling and job placement services for students with disabilities in collaboration with the Dept. of Rehabilitation. Prior to coming to the University, Doug managed the Mains'l College Plus Program in Chico, CA which supported community college students with developmental disabilities in the areas of independent living skills, social skills, vocational skills, and academic skills.
