Join us for a town hall to meet Sophia Gaither, the new MPACE Diversity and Inclusion Board Member! This will be a chance to learn more about her role and engage in a conversation about how career centers can be more welcoming and inclusive to all populations on campus. Come with your ideas, questions, and resources. Hope to see you there.

Free for members and non-members.

Sophia Gaither currently serves as the Associate Director for the Carson College of Business Center for Student Success at Washington State University. In her role she oversees the Career Connections team, which provides student services in career development and employer engagement for the college. Her 10 years of higher education experience includes career coaching, experiential education, graduate and professional school preparation, employer relations and career outcomes.  Prior to joining the career services team at Washington State, Sophia served as the Director of Career Services at Livingstone College, a historically black college in North Carolina. Sophia holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Master of Science in Higher Education from Purdue University-Global. She has been actively involved in several professional associations including the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) where she serves as a mentor to emerging professionals.  She has served as the Secretary of the Career Consortium of Metrolina Colleges in the southeast region. Sophia is a member of the Mountain Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers (MPACE) where she serves as a member of the PacNorth Professional Development Committee.  She also serves on the MPACE Membership Committee where she chairs the Diversity and Inclusion subcommittee. She also served on the 2017 Seattle Conference Entertainment Committee. Sophia has been invited to speak domestically on a variety of topics relating to professional development, life skills, student success and leadership.  As a Southerner transplanted from the Carolinas to the Pacific Northwest, she enjoys experiencing geographic cultural differences while planning life adventures for her husband and five year old son.
